Abstract

This research street children in Watampone and perspectives Act No.23 of 2002 on the prevention of street children in the city Watampone. By using qualitative descriptive method, this research will reveal the factors that cause this phenomenon. The results of the study indicate that economic factors are the main causes that drive children to the streets. Although it is a major cause, but poverty is notthe only factor that causes children to the streets. Still there are some other factors that factor family condition or the integrity of the family, parentaleducation factors and environmental factors. With the presence of street children in Bone regency, it indicates that the Law 23 of 2002 on Child Protection has not been fully realization by all parties, especially the government. This is evident from the budget allocation for social problem, especially street children are not included in the budget.
