Abstract
This study discusses the involvement of actors who contributed to the maintenance of Bugis traditional culture, especially bissu tradition, so it still can be found today. Although throughout the history bussu often get big challenges becauses they violate religion but in reality bissu still exist even in small amount. Data obtained through observation and interview techniques. The data is analyzed using the interactive model proposes by Matthew B. Miles by applying data reduction, presentation, and taking conclusion. The theory used in this study is based on the functional-structural approach of Talcott Parsons that focuses to researchers trying to show the functiona relation between an element of cultural or socio-cultural phenomenon particular to the existing social structure in the community. The analysis shows that the bissue in District Wajo is exposed through the agency of actors, i.e. the royal family, farmers, fishing communities, traditional, indigenous councils, and local governments.
