Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of the intermediation function of banks on economic growth, 2) determine the effect ot the intermediation function of banks, government spending and economic growth to unemployments, 3) determine the effect of government spending, economic growth, unemployment on poverty. This study analyzes the intermediation function of banks and government spending on unemployment and poverty through economic growth in the district Bone. As for the object of study consist of five variables that consist of two exogenous variables and three endogenous variables. Exogenous variables in this research that loan to deposit ratio (X1) and government spending/development (X2), while the endogenous variables consist of economic growth (X3), unemployment (Y1), poverty (Y2). The data used beginning in 2000-2010 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, path analysis. The results obtained show that: 1) the fucntion of banking intermediation and government spending have a significant effect in improving economic growth in the district of Bone, 2) the function of banking intermediation and governmentspending has no effect in lowering the unemployment rate directly, but indirectly influential in lowering the numbers through unemployment variable economic growth, 3) government spending affect directly or indirectly through economic growth and the unemployment rate in reducing poverty.
