Abstract

This thesis presents research about “Improving The Students’ Reading Comprehension Through TELLS (Title, Examine, Look, Look, Setting) At Mts As’adiyah No. 39 Itterung”. This reserach was used to find out whether or not TELLS can improve students’ reading comprehension. This research used quantitative method. The researcher used cluster sampling. The sample consisted of 18 students from the eighth grade of MTs As’Adiyah No.39 Itterung. The researcher gave pre test, treatments, and post test by using TELLS. The data on the students’ reading comprehension were analyzed by using SPSS 25. This result of this research showed that the students had good ability in reading. It could be seen from the comparison data between the mean score of post test was significantly higher than pre test 79,83>53,94. The data was analized by using the significant was 0.00 < 0.005. It indicated that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and of course the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. There was significant difference between of students’ reading comprehension before and after giving the treatment of TELLS and classifying into good category.
