Abstract
Interpersonal communication is a part of human communication. In Islam, this term is called hablun minannas or ta’aruf. The definition of interpersonal communication can be seen from the three main approaches: component-based definitions, dyadic relationhips and development. A component-based definition describes interpersonal communication by observing its components of a messenger by one person and the recipient of a message by another person or a small group of people, with various impacts and with the opportunity to provide immediate feedback. Further, the definition based on the dyadic relationshi, defined as the communication that takes place between two people who have a steady and clear relationship. Moreever, the definition based on development, interpersonal communication is a development or advancement of impersonal communication at one extreme to another extreme personal communication.
