Abstract
Tasawuf and Tariqat were populrs in Islam. But may be a lot of Moslems didn’t understand the meaning and background of those terms. In Arabic, Tasawuf is from sawwafa-yusawwifu-tasawwufan. According to Indonesian, their means mensucikan jiwa. Mensucikan here is to clear soul from atheism or polytheism. To clear the soul, sophis has method. It’s called Tariqat. The shopi’s has negative respondence the conflict between Moslem in 632 M after prophet Muhammad, dead. They didn’y wat to follows in political conflict among of Moslem.
