Abstract

This paper examines the methods of early childhood education in Islamic perspectives. The results show that if a person wants to see early childhood grow and develop well then the teacher should give autonomy to children to a certain extent in class according to the age level. With such autonomy it will provide internal motivation, reduced tension, and conceptual learning will be better for the child. The teacher’s way of giving autonomy to the child by using an approach gives ideas, advice, guidance and does not provide explicit answers and instructions as well as specific learning methods of Islamic education that are applicable to early childhood education activities. The methods include: 1) Exemplary, 2) Education with exercise and practice, 3) Educate through games, songs, and stories, 4) Educate with gifts and punishments, 5) Praise and adulation and, 6) Embedding a good habit.
